Hey Emile, your stuff is very moving! Whenever I look at faces like Caleb or Faizal and when I read your interviews with them, I think about Cape Town in a nostalgic way. I could have gone to school with Faizal; we're about the same age. Caleb reminds me of guys I used to know in my own youth in Cape Town.. Sometimes I think I can pick out Cape Townian faces anywhere in the world, they're that familiar to me! Your images are very evocative and mixed with the stuff from Hackney they work really well. Love the portrait of Olivia (and her funny remarks about her bloke!). While you're out there maybe you could visit the house where I grew up in Claremont..? "Glamorgan", Rosmead Avenue, Claremont. Ask Ivan about it. Apparently it's been restored to some grandeur and Vinette's had a promise to be allowed to look it over. And get some pics if you do.

love the new website layout - laughed out loud at you brief synopsis of the Eng v's Alg game. Have you got a plan of people to interview/photograph or is it fairly random? Do let us know when you and Riaan make contact with African brothers and post up some images of the kit being received/distributed. Be interesting to see the two images you sent to the galley for the exhibition

Yo Claire and Emile

Here's numbers for Mandla Lande

+27216940411 or +27826871520

He's the most reliable member of Amampondo, like I said they played in the opening concert (Nelson Mandela's favourite band). They're all football fanatics and they're based in Langa Township (the oldest township) Capetown.
Just say to Mandla that you got his number from Dick (the cameraman) and that you'd like to hook up with them all, Emile will be very safe with them.
Have a good un.
Bofana Bofana
Best wishes
Dick
PS. Claire I hope I've got the correct e mail for your friend if not just forward it on X
